Why Your Nervous System Needs a Reset Right Now

We have all felt it lately. That wired but tired feeling where your body is exhausted, but your mind is running a marathon at 2:00 AM.


In my work, I talk a lot about the Nervous System, but lets be real, right now, most of us are living in a state of High Alert. Our bodies weren't designed to carry the weight of global uncertainty, back to back Zoom calls, and a 24/7 news cycle all at once.


I’ll be honest with you I’ve been there too.

Even as a practitioner, I am not immune to the noise. Recently, I realised my own internal battery was flashing red. I was helping everyone else find their calm while my own breathing had become shallow and my shoulders were permanently up by my ears. I had to practice what I preach. I took a deliberate step back for digital detox and dedicated a couple of days to my own Reiki and grounding to remind my body that it is safe to let go.Healing isn't a one time event it is a maintenance strategy. Here is how you can start your own reset today.


Tools for an Immediate Reset

Grounding


Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 2, and exhale for a long 8 seconds. Imagine the breath is a heavy, warm blanket settling over your chest. This long exhale is the secret code that tells your Vagus Nerve to flip the switch from Panic to Peace.


Presant Moment


When the world feels too much, your brain loses track of your body. Touch something solid and cold a stone, a piece of wood, or even a cold glass of water. Focus entirely on that texture for 60 seconds. It pulls your energy out of the future worry and back into the now.
