Updated: Mar 11

I am Jane Elizabeth, a Certified Holistic Coach & Reiki Master (amongst many other things).

Struggling with stress or anxiety? You are not broken, and you are not alone. Gentle tools, journaling, affirmations, and real support from someone who understands can make a difference.

Morning Routine for Stress and Anxiety
Morning Routine for Stress and Anxiety

If you are here, chances are you are tired. Not just physically tired, but that deep, heavy, bone-level tiredness that comes from holding it all together while your mind feels like it's running a marathon you never signed up for. Stress and anxiety do not mean you are weak. They don’t mean you are failing, and they definitely do not mean that there is something wrong with you. I know this because I have lived it. I didn’t choose this work because it looked nice on a website. I chose it because I understand what it feels like to wake up already overwhelmed, to smile while your chest feels tight, and to be the strong one for everyone else while quietly falling apart inside. You are not alone. And you don’t have to navigate this on your own.

Let’s Talk About Stress & Anxiety (Honestly)

Anxiety isn’t always about panic attacks. Stress is not always obvious. Sometimes it looks like:

  • Overthinking everything you say or do

  • Feeling on edge for no reason

  • Tight shoulders, clenched jaw, shallow breathing

  • Snapping at the people you love, then feeling guilty

  • Lying awake at night replaying conversations

  • Feeling numb, disconnected, or not yourself

These are not personal flaws. They are signals from your nervous system asking for support.

Gentle Tools That Actually Help (No Toxic Positivity Here)

You don’t need to just think positive. You need tools that meet you where you are.

Journaling When Your Mind Feels Loud

Journaling isn’t about writing beautifully. It is about getting the noise out of your head and onto the page. Try this simple method:

  1. Set a timer for 5 minutes.

  2. Write without stopping.

  3. Try not to censor, correct, or judge.

  4. No one will ever read this but you.

If you don’t know where to start, use prompts like:

  • What feels heavy right now?

  • What am I afraid might happen?

  • What do I need that I’m not giving myself?

This isn’t about fixing anything. It’s about releasing pressure.

How to Create Your Own Affirmations (That Don’t Feel Fake)

If affirmations make you cringe, you are not doing them wrong; you are just being honest. Affirmations work best when they feel believable, not forced. Instead of saying, "I am calm and confident at all times," try:

  • I am learning how to feel safe in my body again.

  • I can feel anxious and still be okay.

  • This feeling will pass; it always has.

  • I don’t have to have everything figured out today.

Say them softly. Say them imperfectly. Say them when you do not quite believe them yet. Your nervous system listens more than you think.

One Minute Grounding for When Anxiety Hits Suddenly

When anxiety spikes, your body thinks you’re in danger, even if you’re not. Try this grounding technique:

  1. Name 5 things you can see.

  2. Name 4 things you can feel.

  3. Name 3 things you can hear.

  4. Name 2 things you can smell.

  5. Name 1 thing you can taste.

This gently brings you back into the present moment, where you are actually safe.

Stop Fighting the Feeling (This Is the Hard One)

One of the biggest shifts in healing anxiety is this: what you resist, persists. Instead of fighting the feeling, try saying, "I can feel this and still be okay." Let the sensation move through you without judging it. Anxiety loses power when it’s no longer feared.

Create One Small Daily Ritual

Healing doesn’t come from massive changes. It comes from consistency and kindness. Your ritual might be:

  • A quiet tea in the morning (try herbal calming).

  • Five slow breaths before bed.

  • A hand on your heart when emotions rise.

  • Stepping outside for fresh air.

Small things done gently can change everything.

Why I Do This Work

I work in this space because I get it. I know what it’s like to be a working mum, carrying responsibility while trying to stay grounded. I understand anxiety from the inside, not just professionally. No one should feel ashamed for struggling. Healing doesn’t need to be harsh, clinical, or intimidating. It can be safe, supportive, and human.

If You Are Reading This and Struggling

Please know this:

  • You are not weak.

  • You are not failing.

  • You are not behind.

  • You are not broken.

You are responding to life, and you deserve support. If you ever feel ready to reach out, you will be met with understanding, not judgment. A calm space. A steady presence. And someone who truly understands what you’re going through.

You don’t have to do this alone anymore. I am a Holistic Coach, a Master Reiki Healer, and a Meditation Instructor. Together, we can explore what works personally for you.
